Bought these because I really liked the look. I am a woman wearing a man's shoe. I have a wide foot and find that the men's version usually fits better. I've already had compliments on how they look at work.

Good baby sniakers

When I received this shoes I was delighted. They felt sturdy and robust. Most surprisingly they were really wide. I often have trouble finding walking boots wide enough but there's no problem here. The fit is excellent.

HOWEVER there is a major flaw with the boots. You can't tighten them up !!! I don't know if it's the lace loops/eyeholes or the material the laces are made of but the bite and catch each other and so when you *try* and pull the laces up tight before tieing a knot you can't. I even tried taking these boots off and pulling the laces tight while off my feet and even that is difficult !!

While I was writing this review I went back and examined the shoes carefully and the problem is definately down to the lace holes. The metal is narrowing towards the top of the shoe and when you pull the laces to try and tighten them, then it's catching in the lace hole guides.

Not very good. Dissapointing as I was thinking that perhaps Amazon would be a good place to make savings on shoes but this sort of thing epitomises while not everything can be bought online.

UPDATE:
I've downgraded this from 2 stars to 1 star as I cannot make these lace-ups work. I'm appalled. There is a major manufacturing issue here and the lace eyelets simply will not allow movement of the lace and it's tearing the laces now. This is only the 4th time i've worn them. These are either factory rejects or Karrimor desperately trying to get rid of a bad batch. DO NOT BUY THESE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE.
